Lord Jesus, reveal yourself to older people who do not yet know you. We pray for those who have never truly understood the gospel, those who have resisted you for many years, and those who quietly long for hope but do not yet know where to find it. Soften hearts, remove barriers, and open minds to the truth of your love and grace. Give churches wisdom, creativiity, and courage as they share the good news. May many older people come to know the joy of your forgiveness and new life in you. Amen.
Lord, we pray for Church Champions and their teams.
Thank you for their heart to serve older people with love, faith, and practical care. Please encourage and strengthen them in all they do. Give them wisdom as they lead, compassion as they support others, and perseverance when ministry feels demanding. Bless their conversations, planning, missional outreach, and pastoral care, and help their churches grow in confidence and vision for later life ministry. May their faithful service bear much fruit, and many older people be reached, discipled, and mobilised through them. Amen.
Lord, be especially near to those living with dementia or memory loss. For older people experiencing confusion, forgetfulness, fear, or disorientation, we ask for your deep peace to rest upon them. Bring calm in distressing moments and comfort when the world feels uncertain. Help them to be treated with great dignity, tenderness, and patience by all around them. Strengthen family members, carers, and church communities as they walk this difficult path alongside them. Amen.
