Lord, comfort those who are grieving.
We lift to you older people carrying the pain of bereavement, loss, and unwanted change. For those grieving a husband, wife, family member, dear friend, health, independence, or the life they once knew, draw especially near. Hold them in their sorrow, strengthen them through the long ache of absence, and gently carry them through the tough days. May they know your sustaining love in every moment. Amen.
Lord, we pray for churches running Holidays at Home this month.
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to bring good news, joy, friendship, and encouragement to older people who may not be going away. Please bless every plan, activity and conversation. Give leaders and volunteers energy and wisdom as they serve. May those who attend feel included, and valued, and may these days create happy memories, deeper connection, and opportunities to know your love. Amen.
Lord, we pray for seniors ministries taking a summer break.
As regular groups pause for the season, please watch over the older people who usually rely on these gatherings for friendship, encouragement, and support. Guard against loneliness and disconnection, and help churches notice anyone who may need extra contact during the break. Refresh leaders, volunteers, and teams, giving them good rest and renewed strength. Amen.
