Lord, thank you for older people.
Thank you for the gift of their lives, their stories, their experience, and all they have carried through the years. Thank you for the faithfulness, wisdom, resilience, and love so many of them model to others. Help our churches to honour them as people made in your image and precious in your sight. May older people know that they are seen, valued, included, and loved by you and by your church. Amen.
Lord Jesus, we pray for older people who recently heard the message of Easter.
For those familiar with the story of the cross and resurrection, but who may not yet have responded with a personal step of faith, we ask that the Easter message and the hope it brings would come alive in a fresh and powerful way. Soften hearts that may have grown resistant or indifferent. Open eyes to the wonder of your love and your victory over sin and death. May this good news become salvation in you. Amen.
Father, bless those who support older people.
We thank you for every person offering time, care, listening, prayer, and pastoral support to older people in churches, homes, hospitals, and care settings. Strengthen them when the work feels heavy or practically demanding. Renew their compassion, protect them from weariness, and give them wisdom in every conversation and visit. Help them to serve with patience, and grace. May they know that their ministry really matters, and may your Spirit equip them to bring the comfort and love of Jesus. Amen.
