We are so thankful to God for everyone who supports us in giving and in prayer. Your help makes it possible for us to inspire and equip churches to empower and serve older people by providing free resources, encouragement, and support to hundreds of Faith in Later Life Church Champions. We couldn't do it without you!

There are 11.9 million older people in the UK. There are more older people than younger, and the church is ageing at twice the rate the country is. And we know that over 5 million older people say television or their pet is their main company and that 1 million older people say they are always or often lonely.

These statistics represent challenges and opportunities.

Church is a wonderful family in which older people can be accepted and known, where they can find friendship and a sense of belonging, come to know God's forgiveness and love, and respond to His irrevokable call to make disciples, at any age.

What do we do?

We are on a mission to inspire and equip Christians to reach, serve and empower older people everywhere, through the local church, so that older people can find and know faith in later life.

Faith in Later Life brings together over 500 years expertise of four leading Christian charities spearheading Christian mission with and through older people, providing a central hub of resources to help guide, enable and encourage churches and people, older or otherwise, in many different aspects of later life. We also have a network of Church Champions, often providing additional support through Faith in Later Life, to their church communities.

We commission projects and resources, where there is a gap, so that we can equip Christians and churches to effectively reach, serve and empower older people everywhere.

We are also delighted to provide the free DailyHOPE telephone line, bringing daily hope to our older friends who are offline and staying at home.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Boost your donation by 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Faith in Later Life to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Faith in Later Life we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Faith in Later Life receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and / or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
