Challenging the myth that dependence is weakness - and why interdependence is part of God’s good design.
Event date July 18th, 2023
Speaker: Prof John Wyatt
In July 2023, we welcomed Prof. John Wyatt, author of Dying Well and The Final Lap, to explore what it means to be created for reliance on others. From infancy, through seasons of caring, to the “final lap” when we often need support again, this session unpacks why interdependence is woven into human life. Catch up with this event for a hopeful, Christian reframe of dependency as something to embrace and celebrate.
Doctor, author, speaker and research scientist
Prof. John Wyatt is Emeritus Professor of Neonatal Paediatrics, Ethics & Perinatology at UCL and a senior researcher at the Faraday Institute, Cambridge. A former consultant neonatologist and academic researcher, he now focuses on the ethical, philosophical and theological challenges raised by medical advances, including AI and robotics, exploring the interface of science and Christian faith.
