Top Five Resources for Sharing the Gospel
The Gospel is the greatest news any of us have ever heard and the best we could ever hope to share, but sometimes it can be difficult to know how.
We’ve collated some of the best resources we have across our site and through our partners to give you a great place to start:
Whether you’re sharing the gospel for the first time, or you’re a seasoned evangelist, it can be hard sometimes to know how to do so well with different kinds of people. The Evangelism Toolkit is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to share their faith with others. Excerpted from Ian Knox’s book Finishing Well, this toolkit covers a variety of topics including sharing your faith with the bereaved, older people, the sick, your grandparents, and those who don’t leave the home. With practical advice and guidance, this toolkit provides step-by-step instructions for how to effectively share the gospel with different groups of people. The Evangelism Toolkit is a must-have resource for anyone looking to share the love of Christ with those around them.
Using the Bible in Evangelism to Older People
Terry Puttick, a Faith in Later Life Trustee and member of London City Mission, ran an excellent seminar for us early this year on Using the Bible in Evangelism to Older People that we cannot commend highly enough. Alongside this passion for evangelism, Terry also has a heart for older people serving on the board of Faith in Later Life. Terry’s training session with us last year was one of our most popular sessions, this session is well-worth catching up on.
Bonus: Where to Turn in the Bible for Evangelism?
In addition to Terry coming to speak to us, he also provided this collection of Bible verses keyed to a variety of difficulties that people often go through. In this collection, you will find powerful and comforting words of encouragement from the Bible that speak to the challenges we face in life, such as grief, loneliness, fear, and confusion. These verses offer hope and strength to those who are struggling and remind us that we are never alone in our struggles.
Whether you’re looking to run a an evangelistic group aimed at seniors in your parish, church, or community, this is a great place to start. Hymns We Love, written by Pippa and Steve Cramer, helps to encourage discussions about the saviour by way of the hymns written to worship him. Many Older People have fond memories of singing Hymns even if they aren’t Christians themselves.
