June Newsletter

I wanted to start this edition of the monthly newsletter by thanking you for your interest in Faith in Later Life. We want to inspire and equip Christians and churches, and in doing so encourage you as well. I hope you find these monthly updates useful, and do remember that there is always more on the website.

What’s new

Churches everywhere are central to their local communities and have the opportunity to combine outreach, with church family fellowship. But we can often find ourselves wondering what sort of activity can help with this. Last month “Christians Together Against Loneliness” launched an excellent new resource called ‘Make a Meal of It’ to help churches run meals that create community connections. You can find out more about this on our website https://faithinlaterlife.org/fill-resource/make-a-meal-of-it-livability/.

Age is but a number?

There is often a perception in society that older people stop doing certain things at certain ages, but this week I was told of a gentleman currently studying “Mission” at a London Theological college, aged 84! We have many excellent resources on our website relating to “ageing well”, do click here if you would like to have a look.

Faith in Action Directory

If you haven’t seen this yet, we are building a directory on our website with a mission to be able to identify services and activities which are being provided by churches and church groups across our nation. We want to do this to inspire those considering starting something similar, to give you an idea as to what is already being done, and importantly, to help older people find an activity or facility in their community which may be of interest. But we need your help! If you know of any such activity, please do let us know here https://faithinlaterlife.org/faith-in-action/directory/.

We are interested in your views and suggestions, so please do get in touch if you would like to, as Faith in Later Life exists for you, Christians and churches, as well as older people in the wider community. You can send us a message by going to https://faithinlaterlife.org/contact-us/.

Yours in Christ,
