Are you in a church in a rural part of the UK?
If you are, you must think about how to reach those in later life. According to government statistics, one in four people living in a rural community are over 65.
In our January 2024 event, Tim Wilson helped us to consider how churches can best grow retired disciples in rural areas.
What are the unique challenges and opportunities for rural churches?
How can we best disciple rural seniors to be a light to their community?
What opportunities are there to share the gospel in rural communities?
Tim is a pastor at Wheelock Heath Baptist Church. The church is in a village of 1,300 in Cheshire. Tim is also on the steering group for The Rural Project, an organisation supporting evangelism and church planting in Rural Britain. His church has thought carefully in recent years about how to equip retired people to serve in the life of the church and how to reach over-65s who don’t know Jesus.
