Become a Trustee with Faith in Later Life
Author: Faith in Later Life
The UK is entering a time of huge demographic change, with older people making up an ever-growing proportion of society and church life. This presents both remarkable opportunities for the gospel and pressing challenges for our communities.
Faith in Later Life exists to inspire and equip Christians to reach, serve and empower older people through the local church. Since launching in 2017, we have grown into a movement of over 1,000 Church Champions who lead ministries across the UK – from running community groups and midweek services, to visiting care homes and supporting neighbours. Through this network and our growing range of resources, campaigns and partnerships, thousands of older people are reached each month with Christian love, friendship, and the hope of Jesus.
Our voice is being heard too – from national media exposure and BBC’s Songs of Praise, to partnerships with Lambeth Palace, Spring Harvest and Keswick. Yet we feel we are only at the beginning. With funding secured and exciting plans for growth, we are now strengthening our Board of Trustees to help guide the next stage of our mission.
We are seeking Christians who share our heart for older people to join our Board. Trustees play a vital role in:
- Guarding and developing our Christian distinctiveness
- Providing strategic direction
- Overseeing delivery and good governance
- Acting as ambassadors for our work
We are especially keen to hear from those with skills in using their personal and church networks to help promote the charity, fundraising & communications, law, digital technology, finance, or church-based ministry with older people.
The time commitment is modest – around six days a year – but the impact is eternal.
