What are people saying about ‘Daily Hope’?

There were over 50,000 calls to the new ‘Daily Hope’ phone line just in its first 11 days. The 24-hour free phone line for Christian worship and prayer is aimed at those who have no or limited access to the internet. The Archbishop of Canterbury said this: ‘It’s important that we support those who are feeling lonely and isolated, whatever age they are. It will allow people to hear hymns, prayers and words that offer comfort and hope.”

Faith in Later Life’s network and Church Champions have been spreading the word. This is what they have told us about the difference it is making:

“I sent out a Daily Hope leaflet to some elderly aunts and one just phoned me crying and crying. It was the first time she’d received anything spiritual since lockdown.” – Direct feedback to Faith in Later Life

“I am absolutely thrilled about the phone service. It is the most exciting news I have heard recently!  I told a resident in a local home, who is telling other residents, staff and families. It would be good if all homes knew about it. Thank you for hearing God`s voice and doing His work.” – Quote from Faith in Later Life newsletter subscriber

“ I have printed some copies of your article about ‘Daily Hope’ to give to those who do not have internet access. We can use it to reach out to those who have no hope and who wouldn’t normally read articles or books.” – Quote from Faith in Later Life newsletter subscriber

This is what those who are listening have said:

“It moved me to tears. I feel so sad being on my own at home, but Daily Hope is helping and calming me, the reasoning is excellent, I love it!”

“It’s like a gift I can open when times are tough and I’m struggling”

“There are days when I feel a little fragile, and can’t snap out of it myself. It’s so helpful to know it’s there. There is so much variety. It’s just lovely. It really helps.”
